Mobile esports are on the rise in most parts of the world, thanks to the accessibility of mobile gaming. More games keep getting added regularly to the App Store and Google Play. With the success mobile esports is seeing, console games get ported to mobile. Despite controversies with Apple, Fortnite mobile is still performing well.

Some successful console games even see full-on mobile versions such as PUBG Mobile, Call of Duty Mobile and NBA 2K Mobile. And all of these games are essentially free to play as well adding to the accessibility factor. On top of that, it’s likely that Call of Duty Warzone will see a mobile version.

Top Upcoming Mobile Esports

Brawl Stars is the latest title from Supercell, a developer that’s produced other hit mobile esports games like Clash Royale and Clash of Clans. It’s a free-to-play multiplayer online-based arena.

Esports news about mobile games will continue to take your feed as the market grows with each new title. Besides, companies are looking for more monetizing and enjoyable experiences; which is the reason why several franchises such as Fortnite, PUBG, and Call of Duty are trying the mobile gaming market. This is no longer the case of course – esports have now started encompassing mobile games as well. What could be more proof of that than mobile games appearing as part of the world famous Asian Games? Mobile esports is poised to become a cornerstone of the global digital games industry over the next 5 years. The report explores the evolution of mobile esports, compared to PC esports, globally, with a focus on Asian markets because Asia is the heart of global esports usage and operations. Key takeaways from the report include.

According to a study by Influencer Marketing Hub in 2019, mobile gaming is expected to be worth $91.2 billion by 2021. The article also states that mobile gaming consists of around 50 percent of the total games market. The growth steers towards the esports side as well, with titles like Garena Free Fire leading all competitive mobile games with 7.79 million hours watched on Twitch over the last 30 days according to Esports Charts. But which mobile esports should fans keep an eye out for?

Armajet

Armajet is still relatively fresh to the esports scene. It’s a shooter that features a jetpack to get around platformer style maps. Players have a few loadouts that to switch between after each death, switching games up frequently.

The goal is simple. Whoever can score the most kills at the end of a match wins. In short, it’s fly, shoot, kill, rinse and repeat. The Forge League, created by Hammers Esports, hosts Armajet events among other places currently.

Critical Ops

Critical Ops is one of the more popular first-person shooters on mobile and is a respected esport. Although it is not quite as popular as top mobile esports like PUBG Mobile, Call of Duty Mobile or Garena Free Fire, it has its own scene.

The game plays and looks a lot like Counter-Strike. In a team-based format, players represent the Coalition or The Breach. The former is a counter-terrorism squad while the latter is a terrorism unit. Some of the game modes featured should seem familiar to shooter game fans. Deathmatch, Defuse and Gun Game consist of these modes.

Brawl Stars

Arguably the quickest growing mobile esport, Brawl Stars is a colorful, quirky gun style game that plays from an overhead camera view. Developed by Supercell, the creators of Clash Royale, the game offers several game modes to choose from, including one where players collect and try to hold gems for as long as possible while fending off opponents.

Can you believe there's only one more #BrawlChampionship Monthly Final?! It was almost impossible to round down all of the plays from the September matches to just a top 10! 🔥 pic.twitter.com/WhmTLOhRMC

Players can unlock and play as several unique characters, each with their own abilities. These abilities charge up several times during a match. So in many cases, these abilities get used quite often, making each game very explosive.

As mobile esports grows, so too does the top game in each section. From shooters like Critical Ops and Armajet to arena games like Brawl Stars, the community is quickly growing. As some of the top mobile esports and games in 2020, fans should keep an eye out to see just how far they go.
