Mrs Dzingira, a Grade 3 teacher at Barclay Chase PrimarySchool in Sanyati district Mashonaland West Province has had to make do withlimited resources in order to teach her students.

“We previously had no text books and we had to search on theinternet to find books and write down the information for our lessons. Theintroduction of the revised curriculum found us unprepared and sometimes we hadto write a lot of things on the board instead of the students reading from atext book.

“I was overjoyed when we received the message that JF KapnekTrust was going to give us books! We barely had any at this school” said Mrs Dzingira.

On Thursday the 6^th of June 2019 JF Kapnek Trustwith funding from Herz Stiftung Foundation, donated 689 text books to BarclayChase Primary. The Ventures text books cater for ECD A up to Grade 7.

Ms Moyo who is a schools inspector in the district, and was the guest of honour at the event, said the gesture greatly complements the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education‘s efforts in resource mobilisation and the creation of a conducive learning environment. She also commended JF Kapnek Trust for its other programs at the school which include: in-service refresher training for ECD teachers and Teachers in Charge, school feeding for ECD learners and health assessments.

“We value JF Kapnek Trust‘s work as a partner. We nowencourage the school leadership and parents to channel the money they should haveused for books to create income generating projects for the school,” Moyo said.

In a handover speech at the ceremony, JF Kapnek Trust ProgrammeOfficer, Aloius Mandizvidza, mentioned how the organisation is committed to theprovision of quality education for vulnerable children.
